Tri-Bot

The Tri-Bot is one of the coolest RC robots around at the moment and i'm sure the Tri-Bot will be a huge hit this christmas with the kids!

The Tri-Bot main features include his pop top head, animated eyebrows and light up eyes. The tri-bot has poseable arms and he can tilt at the waist. One of the best features of Tri-Bot is his mobility, with tri-bots 3 wheels unlike the old 3 wheeled van, tri-bot can "turn on a dime" with his omni-directional motion.

The Tri-Bot comes with a remote control that takes 3 "AAA" batteries to operate. The Tri-Bot remote is fun and very easy to use, the kids will be operating Tri-Bot in minutes. One of the big features of Tri-Bots remote control is that it features a tilt sensor function, just like the Nintendo wii's remote, whenever you press the Tilt Trigger, the Tri-Bot will move in one of the four cardinal directions when you tilt the remote (forward, back, left, and right - but not the diagonal directions).

The Tri-Bot has the ability to store a sequence of up to 40 program steps thanks to it's programme mode. Other modes that are available to the tri-bot include, guard mode which is very popular amongst the kids, Place Tri-Bot in the area you want to guard and after you tap his head, he will scan the area and then enter guard mode. If he detects any movement or new objects he will let out a very impressive alarm sound while popping out his flip-top searchlight and ears. This can be a hilarious event when triggered by an unsuspecting pet or family member, especially in the dark.

The Homing Beacon is another great feature of the tri-bot, by pressing the HOME button on the remote triggers a fun feature that makes Tri-Bot try to find you by searching for a homing signal transmitted by the remote control. Once he has found you he stops. Note, he must be in line of sight of the remote control for this feature to work.

The Tri-bot also comes with an alarm mode which makes the tri-bot run around when the alarm goes off until you catch him and turn it off. Tri-bot will also tell you when he's fallen over thanks to his tilt sensor which he will let you know has happened by uttering one of several funny comments like “The floor has become a wall!”. !

Tri-Bot also comes with 3 different driving games to try out, where Tri-Bot shows you a path, and then you have to follow the path he just laid out by driving him along it with the remote control.

The Pattern Game is the simplest one where Tri-Bot drives a short path to show you what you need to do. You then drive him around using the remote control and recreate his exact path. Then you have the Maze Game where Tri-Bot shows you a more complicated path than the ones you’ll see in the Pattern Game. You then have a limited amount of time to drive the path he laid out and last is the Minefield Game, this is the last driving game where you navigate a minefield he lays out at the start of the game. As you try to recreate the path he laid out, you use a sensor to help navigate the minefield. If a mine is in front of him the proximity sensor will beep and if it is directly in front of him it will beep faster. Using these sounds you spin Tri-Bot around to find a clear spot to drive through that is along the correct path. If you hit a mine, you get the hilarious pleasure of watching him do his blow up routine.
